Since then, you had volunteered to do any missions in Venice. After every mission was completed, you would go to Leonardo’s and celebrate. You and Leonardo weren’t just having an affair, though. You felt genuinely connected to each other. You knew you didn’t love him as a potential mate but he was a very good friend and an even better lover.

You hadn’t told anyone about your nights with Leonardo but you still worried someone would find out. Especially, Ezio. What would your Mentor say if he found out you were not only taking the missions in Venice to have sex but to have sex with a good friend of his? Would Ezio even care? Surely he would. You shook your head in an attempt to rid it of the infiltrating thoughts.

How would Ezio even find out about me and Leonardo? I never told anyone. You sighed and finally gave it a rest and walked home.

Your house was dark, small and relatively gloomy looking. It was next to the brothel which didn’t help in making you feel less alone. How could anyone be an assassin and still have the time for a family? You sure couldn’t. Not with the way Ezio worked you.

You knew your affair with Leonardo would never blossom into anything more than what it currently was. You were too busy and so was he. On top of that, Leonardo would have much rather preferred the company of a man than a woman. You knew you were just a special case and that his other lovers were male. Despite all this, part of you wanted to feel love not lust for someone. You still hoped that it might be Leonardo that you could raise a family with.

You let yourself daydream as you waited for the sun to set. You thought about your nights with Leonardo, about your kills, and about both an ideal and realistic future for yourself. You looked out of the sole window in your house. The sun was sinking quickly from the sky. You left your home and headed back up to the Villa.

When you got to the Villa, you looked around. You couldn’t remember if Ezio had told you any place specific to go. You walked inside the ostentatious house. Claudia was scribbling away on a big book with a chest behind her.

“Excuse me, Miss Claudia,” you said. She looked up from her book with pursed lips.

“Yes?” Claudia sounded irritated.

“Signore Ezio told me to meet him at the Villa at sundown but did not give specifics. Do you happen to know where he wanted me?” You asked. Claudia leaned back in her chair and let out a heavy sigh.

“Go to the weapons room upstairs. He should be there,” she said. You nodded and thanked her before heading upstairs.

The weapons room? you thought. Why there? Oh God. Has he found out about Leonardo and I? I figured he would simply strip me of a rank or make me do twice the amount of missions in other cities. I hope his plan isn’t to kill me. Your mind ran through all the ways the highly skilled assassin could kill you until you reached the weapons room. The room was empty. You stood in front a a set of daggers not really comprehending what was in front of you.
